Hello! First and foremost I want to say thank you for taking the time to look at my website. My name is Tona Monroe-Ball, and I am the owner of Natural Treasure. I am 29 years old and married Troy Ball on May 17, 2003. I was born in Somerset Kentucky on September 3, 1978. I lived in Metro Atlanta for 8 years, but have spent the majority of my life in rural natural Kentucky. In the past couple of years, I've been fortunate enough to travel to Florida, Hawaii, and across the U.S. to see the Grand Canyon, and travel through many of the states. While Hawaii was beautiful, Arizona was neat, and I had fun in Florida, none of these places can touch the raw natural beauty that Kentucky has to offer. There's simply no other place on earth like Kentucky and Tennessee, with Daniel Boone National Forest and the Great Smokey Mountains. While in high school, I ate the typical American diet, and starting having stomach problems. I lived in Atlanta then, and McDonalds was within walking distance. I refuse to delegate the most important thing I have, my health, to a complete stranger with $$$ as his goal. (a.k.a. Medical Doctor MD). I started reading about natural remedies to help my stomach, including peppermint and fenugreek, and starting taking them. With the peppermint, I felt instant relief for indigestion, and the fenugreek help after a couple of weeks. It wasn't long till I was convinced and became what people refer to as a health nut. I started reading everything that I could get my hands on. I'm a firm believer in self education, as it's the best kind, because it stays with you. While I'm far from having the perfect diet, I have made some dietary changes, with the belief that prevention is the best medicine. Thomas Jefferson, a genius of liberality and freedom, said that "the greatest gift a man can give to his country is a new plant." Please take a moment to think about the impact of this statement. This is the man that wrote our great Constitution, and helped to pave the way for this great country. Why would he make such a statement? These plants have therapeutic benefits, medicinal value, and great nutritional value. We as a nation, have to get back to what our Lord God gave us, natural remedies. So much knowledge is already lost, and we have to work to preserve what is left, because most drugs will ultimately fail us through horrible side effects. While I know nothing about gardening or horticulture, I do hope in some small way, to preserve a small part of the value of plants. Have you ever set and listened to the pray request at church? If you have, I'm sure that you've noticed that the majority of pray request are for someone's health. As a Christian, your faith is supposed to be in our Lord God, but it's often placed in doctors. I'm not saying that you should never go to a doctor, but merely that you should be using what our Lord God has given us, natural plants for health and nutrition. In general, it's easier to go to a doctor when we have a problem. He will pat us on the back, and rarely will say it's time to change what got you in this shape. We're accustomed to fast pace life styles and want the quick fix to everything. With few exceptions, you can't make yourself sick in one day; therefore, why would you expect to make yourself well in a day or two. Healing is a gradual process, that results in natural changes to your body, not quick fixes for symptoms. If you live by a doctor, then you will die by one, because of their limitations. I am a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.). I would love to be in practice as a holistic doctor. Currently N.D.'s are not eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee. Please write your congressman concerning this grave injustice. Thomas Jefferson was a firm believer in the farmer, and every man working for himself. Today, that would equate to small businesses. Please support your small businesses, and break the habit of going to Wal-Mart and other mass merchants because of price or convenience. What could be convenient about waiting in line 30 minutes just to buy a pack of gum, at Wal-Mart? As you search this site, please enjoy what our Lord God has given us, and the value of these plants that our forefather Thomas Jefferson so ardently believed in. Thank you and God Bless you!
